Sivakarthikeyan’s maiden production venture, Kanaa, directed by debutant Arunraja Kamaraja and starring Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj in lead roles, released towards the end of last year with Dhibu Ninan Thomas scoring the music and the film going on to become a critical and commercial hit.

With Sivakarthikeyan playing an important role in Kanaa, which revolves around women’s cricket, the film fetched massive appreciation for Aishwarya Rajesh. Now, a piece of breaking news is out about the film's Telugu remake which will see the popular actress reprising her role from the Tamil version.

The Telugu version of Kanaa has officially been titled "Kowsalya Krishnamurthy...Cricketer", which will be the character name of Aishwarya Rajesh in the film and bears a slight resemblance to her character's name, Kowsalya Murugesan, in the Tamil version.

The upcoming Telugu remake will be directed by Bheemaneni Srinivasa Rao and is being produced under the Creative Commercials banner with Natakireeti Rajendraprasad, Karthik Raju, Vennela Kishore among others in important roles. Kowsalya Krishnamurthy...Cricketer has officially been launched today (13.03.2019) at Rajahmundry with the cast and crew gracing the event.
