The legendary Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan had his own statue located close to the sea in Chennai’s beach road. Despite the location having a lot of other landmark constructions like Simson Manikoondu and a huge arch, a public welfare case was filed. The case claimed the Sivaji statue is obstructing traffic and in order to make it easy for the public, it was ordered to be removed by the court. Despite fans protest and controversy that the statue is the only thing being considered a hindrance on the road, it was removed quickly last night. TN government has promised that the statue will be erected once again in the new Memorial being constructed by the govt in Adyar, opposite Sathya Studios. However, it has disappointed many long time fans for the unfair decision made by the court.
