T. Rajendar has been one of the most popular and influential people in the Tamil film industry.

Lovingly called as TR by his countless fans across Tamil Nadu, the veteran has been an industry veteran for nearly 5 decades and is still the exuberant person since his young days.

Meanwhile, TR, who recently announced his entry into politics with his Latchiya Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, had recently participated in a talent show as a special guest judge.

Post his participation, a section of fans had begun trolling on various social networking forums, which drew ire from many of his fans.

Now, his son and the multi-talented Simbu released a statement directed towards all those who have been trolling his father, T. Rajendar.

Simbu stated, "When a person like my father with such huge experience, multiple talents and high potential even at this age is mocked, it does a hurt quite a lot. But, it is necessary to understand that the ones who mock him for his style of vocal music composition cannot compose music like him vocally and that is why these people resort to making fun of him."

He also said, "Some make fun of my father for shaking his head and hair. At least he has hair when these people are turning bald at the age of 20."

STR further added, "When there are those who fall for any girl, my father is one who has married only woman and is still committed to his marriage even today. Such a good habit will only draw mockery from these kinds of people."

In addition, Simbu spoke, "Some of these people will also be addicted to drugs. And, these people will obviously want to make fun of a person like him, who doesn’t have any single bad habit."

Simbu then went on to add, "One thing everybody need to understand is these people who make fun of him are the ones who have no talent whatsoever. However, some others, who despite not possessing talent, encourage him for his vast knowledge, his big list of talents, and it is because of the respect bestowed upon by those people that he has scaled big heights in his life today. And, it is those people whom I want to thank from the bottom of my heart."

On the professional front, Simbu is currently working on Mani Ratnam’s multi-starrer, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.

He is also handling the music for Oviya’s upcoming film, 90ML.
