Siddharth is one actor, who has proved his talents over the course of the years with the choice of his roles and the diversity in his performances.
He has established himself to be one of the most sensible stars in the industry with the films he has starred in and by speaking his mind on issues that are relevant to the times.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) had announced an indefinite strike over its dispute with the Digital Service Providers (DSPs) few days back, which took effect starting on March 16.
The TFPC had stated production as well as post-production works on all ongoing films should come to a halt effective immediately from March 16.
Despite a majority of production houses stalling their projects, few films did continue rolling with their previously planned schedules namely Vijay’s Thalapathy 62, Samuthirakani’s Naadodigal 2, Dulquer Salmaan’s Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal and an untitled venture by 18th Cross Pictures after they had been given special permission from the TFPC for a short period.
Controversy erupted among the film fraternity when this news became knowledge to them leading to many expressing their opinions with Siddharth too being one among them now.
Siddharth shared his views on Twitter in a series of tweets regarding the ongoing strike in Tamil cinema highlighting the special permission allotted to few films.
Every single film is an equal challenge in today's brutal cinema marketplace. If these special permissions to shoot are given to one, please give them to all producers. We are all the same. In the absence of equality and unity, god save us. #TamilCinema #Strike— Siddharth (@Actor_Siddharth) March 21, 2018
Siddharth did not mince words in calling out the Tamil Nadu government too for not paying any heed to Tamil cinema for nearly a decade.
This TN govt. does not and will not care about cinema. They have proved that for a decade. It will take a miracle for them to suddenly turn around and change that. Revamping the industry is needed, but at what cost? Let the industry show unity first. Then change will follow.— Siddharth (@Actor_Siddharth) March 21, 2018
He further addressed the Twitterati for using foul language towards him and said only two sets of few jobless idiots spoiling are everyone's name and time, referring to a particular section of Vijay and Ajith’s fans.
If you want to know what will not add 1 paisa value to Tamil Cinema, please read last 100 replies on my timeline. Filthy language, thevayillatha poison, sambandhamillatha kovam. Two sets of few jobless idiots spoiling everyone's name and time. Paavam Vijay-Ajith.— Siddharth (@Actor_Siddharth) March 21, 2018
Siddharth’s upcoming films include Shaitan Ka Bachcha in Tamil and Kammara Sambhavam in Malayalam with Dileep and Bobby Simha.
