Naming films inspired by older classics is a very common trend these days. Pokiri Raja had Sibiraj playing the villain against Jiiva and was a Superstar Rajinikanth’s film title.
While the story is completely different, it did make them movie reach audience in the initial stage. Sibiraj has managed to bag another title from Rajinikanth’s movie. The title is Ranga and it has been bagged by the team because it deals with Lord Ranganathan and how Sibi saves the heroine Nikhila from a dire situation.
The producer added that they have acquired the license as Ranga was available and also sought blessings from the original producer who made the Superstar movie decades ago.
Interestingly, Sibiraj has picked the two titles for his upcoming films as Sathya and Ranga. The actor Sathyaraj, Sibiraj's father is originally named Rangaraj which he renamed as Sathyaraj for the film industry. The son seems to be lending his respects by naming his movies inspired by his dad's names.
