The news that she'll be back in front of the camera and this time she's going big. It was made official yesterday that the actress will be playing a trained assassin, masking as a waitress in the series named Treadstone.
Treadstone is a American action drama series, a spinoff of the Bourne film series. The show will air on the USA Network, and Shruti will be seen playing the character of Nira Patel. In a recent interview with a daily, she stated that the filming for Treadstone is underway at Budapest, but her scenes will be filmed at India and that she'll be undertaking workshop for stunts.
Back home, it was announced long back that Shruti will be playing the lead role, opposite Vijay Sethupathi in the movie Laabam, directed by S P Jananathan. Bankrolled by 7C's Entertainment Private Limited and Vijay Sethupathi Productions, the movie also features Jagapathi Babu and Kalaiyarasan of Madras fame. Shruti Haasan has completed filming one schedule of the movie and the filming will resume soon.
