Shilpa launches readymade meal chain in Britain

Bollywood actress-model Shilpa Shetty, who mesmerized South Indian audiences with her pretty roles in nearly 10 Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films, has acquired a 33% stake in V8 Gourmet, a London-based restaurant group, to launch her own range of readymade meals in Britain.

It is confirmed thatshe has acquired this stake along with her entrepreneur fiancé Raj Kundra, whom she's rumoured to marry in November.

Their restaurantplans include launching a wide range of ready meals, pickles and chutneys. Apart from the condiments and popular curries, the range will also include a variety of dishes from different regions of India. All curries will have less than 10% fat. The range is expected to be marketed in 2010.

"We will be branching out to Dubai and Jordan by end of this year, and many more in years to come," Shilpa said, dismissing rumours that the food chain was in remembrance of late British reality TV star Jade Goody, whom she interacted with in Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 in Britain.
