Ilayaraja 75, the grand event to honor the musical legend Isaigniani Ilayaraja happened on Saturday (February 2nd) and Sunday (February 3rd) at the YMCA ground in Chennai. Top actors and technicians from all south Indian languages attended the event including hotshots like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Shankar, AR Rahman and many more.
All the celebrities spoke high of the legend and revealed unheard stories when they visited the stage and one of the interesting stories came from director Shankar.
Speaking at the event, director Shanker revealed,
"I had fixed Ilayaraja for my first movie Gentleman and had even got his dates to meet him for the confirmation. But the meeting did not happen as I was afraid, thinking how can I work with the man of that stature.
Later, Ilayaraja worked with me when I did an awareness campaign video for the TN government which also had Kamal Haasan. When I worked with him for that ad, I suggested some correction and he made the changes without any hesitation."
