A film that featured two of India’s iconic acting talents, Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan was the historical fiction-political thriller film, Hey Ram, released in 2000.
Hailed as one of the greatest films to be made, Hey Ram now enjoys a cult following after its release nearly two decades back.
That being said, the Hindi remake rights of the Kamal Haasan directorial have reportedly been bagged by Shah Rukh Khan, who is said to be quite eager to get the film made in Hindi.
The news is said to have been confirmed by Kamal Haasan, who stated he had gifted SRK a wristwatch as he had nothing left after the film was made.
Kamal then said Shah Rukh is now the brand ambassador for a watch brand and is glad that he has secured the Hindi remake rights of Hey Ram from co-producer Bharat Shah.
The 'Ulaganayagan' was in praise of the 'Bollywood Baadshah' saying he had given his friendship and service for the film back in the day.
It must be noted both Kamal Haasan and Shah Rukh Khan had recently met at the Reframing the Future of Film event in Mumbai, which saw ace Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan take part.
