A Balaji Tharaneetharan directorial produced under the Passion Studios banner with music by Govind Menon, Seethakaathi is at present in its post-production stages and is expected to arrive in theatres in the months ahead.
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi recently spoke about his role in the upcoming dramedy stating the film was quite apt for screen legends MGR and Sivaji Ganesan and that, Balaji Tharaneetharan’s initial choice was to cast a big star for the part, but had to opt out due to their non-availability.
It was only then that Vijay Sethupathi was approached by Balaji, who previously worked with the star in the smash hit, Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom, in 2012.
As for his role, the ‘Makkal Selvan’ went on to state he plays an 80-year old drama artist in this film, which will convey the message of art being immortal and never meeting its end.
Seethakathi includes several notable names starting with veteran actor Mahendran after his performances in Theri and Nimir.
Actress Parvatii Nair too is part of the film and will be seen as the first of the three female leads.
Next up, actress Gayathrie Shankar, who has previously worked with Vijay Sethupathi on four occasions will once again be seen opposite the busiest star of Tamil cinema.
