Satyam Cineplexes to set up 40 screens by 2011

One of the largest cineplexes in India, Satyam Cineplexes will set up over 40 more screens in major cities in North, East and South India including Delhi, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai by the summer of 2011, Ian Riches, vice president of Business Development and Projects, Satyam Cineplexes, announced.

Owned by Deven Chachra, Satyam Cineplexes currently has 17 screens across the country with four multiplexes (three in Delhi and a newly opened five-screen property in Indore).

"We are targeting major cities and this will include cities like Delhi, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. By the end of March 2011, we will be launching close to 18-20 screens in cities like Jodhpur, Aurangabad, Mysore and Rohtak to achieve a total of 40 screens operational by the end of the financial year," he added.
