In a film that screams big names, Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman is perhaps the biggest addition to ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s upcoming film, Sarkar, being directed by A. R. Murugadoss under the Sun Pictures banner.

With filming progressing at steady pace, the Sarkar first look was unveiled last week amidst a rousing response from Vijay’s fans ahead of the superstar’s birthday.

One striking aspect of the Sarkar first look was a BGM track that was included, which was later revealed to have been scored by A. R. Rahman.

That being said, there are now reports stating the ‘Mozart of Madras’ is working on creating a special theme track for Vijay in the action political thriller.

It must be noted the ‘Isaipuyal’ has scored music for three Vijay films till date - Udhaya, Azhagiya Tamil Magan and last year’s blockbuster, Mersal - with none of them having a theme track.

Sarkar will most likely include a theme track for Vijay considering A. R. Murugadoss has made sure both his previous films with ‘Thalapathy’ - Thuppakki and Kaththi - each had hit theme scores.

Actress Keerthy Suresh will play ladylove to Vijay in the film with Livingston as her father and Yogi Babu handling the comedy track.

Veteran actor Radha Ravi is the chief antagonist, whose USA-returned daughter is reportedly actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar.
