Thalapathy Vijay's Sarkar was in the headlines after AIADMK party cadres protested to remove a controversial scene from the movie. Following the incident, a case was filed against the director of the venture AR Murugadoss and the later had applied for anticipatory bail. An interim order was passed saying that AR Murugadoss cannot be arrested till November 27th.

As the case came to hearing on Tuesday and the Tamil Nadu government asked AR Murugadoss to offer an unconditional apology for mocking welfare schemes of the government. AIADMK has also asked AR Murugadoss to issue a written statement that he would never criticise the government or its welfare schemes in his upcoming films. A reply statement from AR Murugadoss is expected to be made soon.

And now, actor Kamal Haasan has stepped in to support AR Murugadoss and has posted a tweet on the ongoing issue.

Kamal tweeted, "Sarkar has been certified by CBFC. Yet Government dares to muffle the right of people to express. This is not democracy. Fascism was defeated before, will be done again."
