‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Sarkar directed by A. R. Murugadoss has proved in quick time to be one of the biggest blockbusters in recent years. Produced by Sun Pictures banner with music by A. R. Rahman featuring Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar as the female leads has come out with flying colors in terms of collections at the worldwide box office. The film has succeeded beyond expectations with tickets selling at theatres like hot cakes despite all the controversies it has been embroiled in over the past few days.
Released earlier this week, Sarkar has now raked in over 150 crores in a span of just four days. It must be noted the action political drama crossed the 100 crore mark in two days; a new record for ‘Thalapathy’, who previously hit similar figures with Mersal last year in 3 days.
With such a strong show already, it now remains to be seen how much further the film goes on to perform. The film is also Vijay's third entry into the 150 crore club in his glorious career after the blockbusters Theri and Mersal.
