As known already, the Tamil film industry is going through a major crisis in the form of the strike announced by the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) against Digital Service Providers (DSPs) like UFO and Qube.

Not only has the TFPC strike affected ongoing productions, but has also brought a halt to post-production works on all Tamil films. Meanwhile, with no new film releases across Tamil Nadu over the past few days, fans are now following their favorite stars’ upcoming films in other languages and Samantha’s Telugu film Rangasthalam is one such highly anticipated movie in recent times.

A period film set in the 1980s, Rangasthalam is slated to hit screens on March 30 and features Telugu superstar Ram Charan as the male lead under Sukumar’s direction with music by Devi Sri Prasad.

Although there is no word yet on when the TFPC strike will come to an end, it is believed at this point that the Telugu film will be the big release of this month in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana and other parts of the nation and, around the world for Samantha’s die-hard fans.

Tamil film and Samantha’s fans, who perhaps living close to the border of the neighboring state will not want to miss Rangasthalam since promotions for the film have generated quite a lot of interest.

As for Samantha’s upcoming Tamil films, the actress awaits the release of her Irumbu Thirai opposite Vishal.

Her other biggie, the Savitri biopic with Keerthy Suresh and an ensemble star lineup made as a bilingual in Tamil as Nadigaiyar Thilagam and Mahanati in Telugu wrapped up production earlier this week and will hit screens on May 9.

She is also part of the ambitious Super Deluxe where she will be playing the character Vaembu opposite Vijay Sethupathi, who appears as a transgender named Shilpa.
