Announced earlier this year, Maari 2, starring Dhanush in the lead role is being directed by Balaji Mohan under the Wunderbar Films banner with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Being prepped for a release later this year, the film is a sequel to the 2015 smash hit, Maari, in which had Dhanush had portrayed a local rowdy, who eventually becomes an auto driver.
Now, reports are doing the rounds stating actress Sai Pallavi, who is the female lead in Maari 2 is playing an auto driver and that brings a question as to whether she will be a competition to Dhanush in the film.
It must be noted Varalaxmi Sarathkumar also has been cast for a crucial role in the film.
Furthermore, Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas will be playing the antagonist.
And finally, actor Kreshna Kulasekaran has also been cast in a vital supporting role.
