Fans have been long awaiting actor Sai Pallavi’s debut in the Tamil film industry. She became a favorite among the youth after a superb debut in the 2015 Malayalam blockbuster, Premam and followed it up with Kali opposite Dulquer Salmaan.

Since then, she has also earned a solid fan base in Telugu too with films like Fidaa and Middle Class Abbayi.

At present Sai Pallavi is working on Maari 2 opposite Dhanush and will also be seen opposite Suriya under Selvaraghavan’s direction in the tentatively titled Suriya 36.

In the midst of this, her Tamil debut, Karu, which was announced to hit screens on February 23 is now facing an unexpected obstacle in the form of an interim ban by the Madras High Court.

A producer named Manimaran of the JS Screens banner had filed a petition in the Court stating he had already registered the Karu title and also gotten a censor certificate for his film’s trailer. Judge Sundar after analyzing JS Screens’ Manimaran’s documents had ordered an interim ban on Karu and has requested Lyca Productions to present their evidence.

Directed by A. L. Vijay, Karu stars Sai Pallavi, Naga Shourya, RJ Balaji among others with music by Sam CS.
