Saalaiyoram is directed by Moorthykannan and the story revolves around the life of a rag picker. Debutants Raj and Sherina are playing the lead roles and Pandiarajan is playing the antagonist after Anjaathe. Reportedly, the director had researched about the life of rag pickers for one and a half months before writing the script.
The story is about how Sherina, who is pursuing her PhD in solid waste management, falls in love with a rag picker played by Raj. The director states that people don’t know what kind of life these rag pickers lead.
Saalaiyoram is a perfect blend of romance, comedy and sentiment, says Moorthykannan.
