The Centre's decision to do away with Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes from midnight Tuesday to fight against black money was welcomed by all. However, it looks like this has taken a toll on the film industry. It is reported that almost all the theatres were empty today and many even closed the screens.
Due to this uncertain issue, producer T Siva of Amma Creations has decided to postpone his next release Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru to Nov 17. Initially, the film was scheduled to open this Friday. Directed by Rajesh with GV Prakash as the main lead, this U certified entertainer has Nikki Galrani and Anandhi are the leading ladies. Earlier, the film was under scrutiny after a case was filed against the makers seeking a stay on the release. However, the court dismissed the petition allowing the scheduled release. RJ Balaji and Prakash Raj also play important roles in the film. The film, we hear, is a travel-based story and is shot in Chennai, Goa, and Puducherry.
