Muthuraman told that during the 90-day schedule all the cast and crew of the film undergone the ritual of fasting on Thursday in reverence to lord's presence considering it was the mythological film.


2. Nanban

Vijay after a certian point in career became a mass hero and was continuously seen in action packed hero centered movies and to everybody's surprise he chose Nanban in Shankar's direction , a remake of Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots. The film was quiet refreshing for Vijay fans and for Tamil Cinema fans altogether.


3. Varalaru

Ajith made a bold decision by doing a movie like Varalaru where he played a bharathanatyam dancer. Directed by KS Ravikumar, the films's production was delayed for various reasons but eventually saw the light and garnered many positive reviews referring this as a milestone in Ajith's career.


4. Seedan

After winning the National award for Aadukalam, Dhanush chose to do Seedan where he played Lord Murugan and apparently he did not do the main role too. Dhanush played Saravanan who is a cook, a disguise he chose to help his ardent devotee.


5. Muni 2 - Kanchana

Sarathkumar played a transgender who avenges the people who kills him and his dreams. A bold choice indeed and he managed to pull it off effortlessly and was immensely appreciated. In fact, his characterisation made a positive impact on trensgenders as whole.


6. Irudhi Suttru

Madhavan broke his chocolate boy look and ventured into a complete transformation for Irudhi Suttru directed by Sudha Kongara. Not only he dedicated 3 years of his life to beaf up for this boxer role, he took it as a challenge to transform his body with his pure vegeterian diet and attended an intense body conditioning regime in Los Angeles.


7. Pachchaikili Muthucharam

Jyothika played a villainous role in this movie directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon while she was busy doing bubbly roles. She had toned a lot for this character and everything, right from her hair colour to her skin tone was given a new touch and she aced the grudgeful character with utmost dedication.


8. Size Zero

Anushka Shetty made many jaws drop down when she bulked up a good 25 kilos for her role in Size Zero. Anushka played sweety a easy go care free fat girl and the practical difficulties she undergoes in seeking a suitable bridegroom. Anushka had demonstrated the character with great finesse on emotional level and the movie also addressed an important issue of fast and unsafe weight loss options eventually spready a social message.


9. Kakka Muttai

Aishwarya Rajesh made a unique bold decision to play a mother to 2 boys in Manikandan's Kakka Muttai in a time when she was paired back to back with Vijay Sethupathi in movies liek Rummy and Pannaiyarum Padminiyum. But, she made this favour her more luck and she is now one of the top heroines of Kollywood and is currently part of Maniratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.


10. Maya

Nayanthara is now the Lady Superstar and there is no second thought about it. She came back with full power and vigour when she made a come back and there is no looking back post that.
