A debate that has taken the state by storm, on whether the first Indian Premier League match in Chennai will take place has created quite a lot of talk among fans as it marks the first time in two years the Chennai Super Kings team will be playing in the city. As a mark of solidarity for the people protesting across Tamil Nadu for issues such as the Sterlite factory in Tuticorin and the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board, 'Superstar' Rajinikanth had yesterday posted a request to the management of CSK to allow the players of the team to sport black bands.
Having said that, the Chennai Super Kings has now issued a statement rejecting Rajinikanth’s request. Furthermore, it has been announced that fans are not allowed to bring their mobile phones, laptops, cameras, banners, flags, crackers into the Chepauk Stadium in CSK’s first match in two years in the city in the eleventh ongoing edition of the IPL.
