Ever since Rajinikanth announced earlier this year his entry into the political arena, every decision of the 'Superstar' is being closely watched by his contemporaries as well as the masses.

Rajinikanth, who has films lined up this year as well as his upcoming political journey is at present visiting the Himalayas as part of a short spiritual break for two weeks.

Meanwhile, a lot has been debated regarding Rajinikanth’s silence over political questions, which led to many being quite disappointed with the actor.

Speaking to the media at Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Rajinikanth stated, "As I have not announced the name of my political party and I am not yet a full-time politician, I cannot answer any political-related questions."

On the contrary, Rajinikanth did go on to state he was quite confident about his political journey saying, "This trip to Himalayas is charging me spiritually and I have a freedom here which I quite miss in Chennai. I wish privacy so I can meditate and experience the Ganges. I would like to say I am extremely confident regarding my role in politics as similar to my acting career."

He further added, "One must sacrifice quite a lot to become a politician and that is what I intend to do by serving the people. I realize it is there is no other way in this and I will have to handle it."

On the film front, Rajinikanth will be seen in three films starting with Kaala on April 27 directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films banner.

The much-awaited sci-fi action thriller, 2.0, under Shankar’s direction and produced by Lyca Productions is at present in post-production stages.

The film’s release still under debate for either in the month of August or as a Diwali treat if the ongoing TFPC strike goes on to affect the release plans of films namely Vijay's Thalapathy 62, Ajith’s Viswasam and Suriya’s NGK.

In addition, a massive announcement came out just few days back with Rajinikanth joining hands with young acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj for a film under the Sun Pictures banner with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
