Among the celebrities from the Tamil film industry, actor Rajinikanth had lashed out at the state government for its methods to bring down the tensions relating to the Sterlite Copper unit factory in Tuticorin, which eventually led to a shootout and the death of over 10 people leaving several others seriously injured.
Rajinikanth had today visited Tuticorin and delivered a landmark announcement by deciding to donate Rs. 2 lakhs to each of the kith and kin of the victims.
Furthermore, the actor turned politician also announced all those who were injured in the tragic incident last week too would be given Rs. 10000/- as a form of financial assistance.
