Shaam came in as a surprise package to Tamil Cinema with 12B, with a one of its kind screenplay and it was at that time pretty tough and lucky to get a launch with two heroines who ruled Tamil Cinema - Simran and Jyothika.
Looks like the actor has come a long way and is now 25 films old with his upcoming movie Purambokku starring Vijay Sethupathi and Arya. Here is a gist of what the actor spoke about his 13 years journey in movies.
Shaam says, "Time flies. I cannot believe it has been 13 years. I am happy to have worked with directors like Vasanth, Jananathan, Priyadarshan, Jeeva and M Raja. I became a producer too with the movie '6'. Right now, I am working in Purambokku and happy to be associated with Jananathan. I play Mechaley in Purambokku who feels law must not be revised at any cost.
It was a fabulous experience to work for Purambokku for 60 days and all three of us have portrayed characters which are unique and contrasting. Arya is like a brother to me since we worked in Ullamketkume. I am happy for his growth and I have also admired Vijay Sethupathi's work.
I share a great bonding with them now and we shared the same caravan and had a fun time. I have done 5 movies in Tollywood too including Kick and Race Gurram. I have also debuted in Sandalwood with TananamTananam. After Purambokku, I am doing a bilingual movie with Kuppi's director AMR Ramesh and sharing screen space with Arjun sir.
My next Tamil movie is with debutant director Nagaraj and will be a madurai based story. " Looks like 2015 is packed for the actor and he wants to be a director's actor always. All the best Shaam and the entire team of Purambokku.
