Despite all the hiccups faced, Vijay's Puli has managed to mint Rs. 75 Crores from week 1. The film has received good response in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra, Telangana and Karnataka.

One of the most-awaited films in Kollywood, Puli has an ensemble star cast that includes Sridevi, Sudeep, Shruti Haasan, Hansika, Prabhu and Nandita Shwetha. Produced by Vijay's public relations officer Selvakumar, the project has music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, Natarajan Subramaniam as the cinematographer and Sreekar Prasad as the editor. The film was released in more than 3500 screens worldwide.
