Isai is an upcoming film which will be directed by SJ Suryah of Vaali and Khushi fame, who is making a comeback to direction in Kollywood, after seven long years. The director himself will play the lead along with debutant Savitri. The story of the film revolves around a leading music composer in the industry threatened by the entry of a new music composer. SJ Suryah will be playing one of the music composers while Prakashraj had been roped in to play the other. It was being said that the film is based on Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman, but SJ Suryah, rubbishing it, said that it is just about two leading music composers and doesn't specifically target anyone. SJ Suryah will be seen making his debut as a music composer in Isai

Now, Prakashraj has opted out of the film. Though the reason for the sudden decision is unknown, the buzz is that the film contained few scenes which degraded Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja, due to which Prakashraj decided not to be a part of it. The actor is known to have a good relationship with Ilaiyaraaja. Isaignani had composed music for Prakashraj's directorial debut Dhoni and will also be composing music for his upcoming directorial venture Un Samayal Araiyil.
