Announced earlier in January this year, Mahavir Karna, the epic film which will star 'Chiyaan' Vikram in the lead role has generated massive interest among fans. To be directed by RS Vimal, the filmmaker behind the hit 2015 Malayalam film Ennu Ninte Moideen, the film will be made at an estimated Rs. 300 crores budget with plans to dub it in 32 languages.
The film will be produced by the New York-based United Film Kingdom banner with production expected to kick-off in October this year with plans for a Christmas 2019 release.
Meanwhile, a special auspicious pooja was conducted for the Mahavir Karna film script book last week signalling pre-production work on the film is indeed underway.
This will no doubt be joyous news for Vikram fans, who have loved watching the actor take on challenging roles over the course of his illustrious career.
It must be noted RS Vimal had stated there were plans to rope in a Hollywood actor to portray the Bheema character alongside Vikram as Mahavir Karna.
