At the audio launch of director Raju Saravanan's upcoming movie Mehandi Circus, Mari Selvaraj revealed that after seeing Shweta Tripathi's role in Masaan, he had felt enthralled. He added that he had drawn inspiration from her character for his Pariyerum Perumal's heroine Anandhi's Jo! He also revealed that he was happy that Shweta Tripati was debuting in Tamil movies as he wants to direct her in one of his movies after she became accustomed to Tamil, since he himself is not fluent with English or Hindi.
