Uyare heroine Parvathy is one of the stauchest activists of Women in Cinema Collective. The collective has helped to revolutionize the Mollywod industry by questioning the age-old sexist and patriarchal notions. Known for her bold views, this actress revealed that she has lost many opportunities due to her stand. But she is cabale of creating opportunities by herself, the actress told a leading Malayalam daily.

She said that she is a privileged person and she has taken a stand, fully aware of her position. She added that apart from WCC members, may men and women also lost opportunities because of supporting the Collective. There is a gang operating here, revealed the actress. Cinema and art no longer belong to one person, said the actress adding that such an idea itself is foolish. Parvathy plays an acid attack survivor in her next, Uyare to be released on April 26.
