A massive film in the making, Suriya’s Kaappaan being directed by KV Anand under the Lyca Productions banner includes music by Harris Jayaraj and is being planned for an August 15 release.
A multi-starrer, Kaappaan, also includes Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Sayyeshaa as the female lead, Arya, Samuthirakani, acclaimed Bollywood actor Boman Irani, Chirag Dani among others and is nearing its final stages of production.
With filming still ongoing, Suriya appeared via video conferencing as a special guest on a popular Malayalam television show in which Mohanlal had confirmed that he is indeed playing the role of the Indian Prime Minister while the Tamil superstar will be seen as his personal bodyguard from the Special Protection Group (SPG).

Suriya had also gone on to reveal that Kaappaan was being planned for a holiday release in August/September with the upcoming action thriller carrying tremendous expectations as it sees the reunion of the NGK star with KV Anand after their previous films, Ayan and Maattrraan.
