One of Tamil cinema's cult classics, Aayirathil Oruvan written and directed by Selvaraghavan is produced by R Ravindran The movie features music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Ramji and editing by Kola Bhaskar. Aayirathill Oruvan stars Karthi, Reema Sen, and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead with Parthiepan playing a pivotal role.
When the movie came out in 2010, the reception was below par as it received some mixed reviews. But to the surprise of everyone, Aayirathil Oruvan became an aging wine garnishing admirers over time becoming one of the most favorite cults of all time.
As a part of the ongoing throwback trend with the cinema halls, Selvaraghvan's Aayirathil Oruvan was screened at the popular theater GK Cinemas in Chennai's Porur recently. The special throwback screening received a great reception from the fans as the tickets went sold in a flash resulting to add more shows. The movie was celebrated in an unbelievable way.
R Ravindhran, the producer of Ayirathil Oruvan also attended the special screening and the popular producer opened up about the movie, Aayirathi Oruvan 2, Re-release of Aayirthil Oruvan and many more.
R Ravindran said,
"Selvaraghvan has told many times that Ayirathil Oruvan is very close to his heart and he would like to do the second part of the movie. With God's grace, I expect it to happen soon."
About the re-release of Aayirathil Oruvan,
"After the special shows in Chennai, many around the state are requesting to screen the movie in their city as well so a re-release is on the card!"
