It has been over a year since the untimely and sudden demise of actress Sridevi. The former actrss passed away on February 24, 2018, due to accidental drowning in the bathtub. But, now it seems like the argument over the mystery regarding her death has not been resolved yet. According to reports, Kerala DGP (Prisons) Rishiraj Singh has written in a column that Sridevi's death 'might not have been due to accidental drowning'. This obviously has stirred a string of controversies and many are wondering whether there is any truth behind his statement.

In the column, published in a daily, Rishiraj wrote, “My friend and the late forensic expert Dr Umadathan had told me long back that Sridevi's death might have been a murder and not an accidental death. This he told me when I asked him about Sridevi's death, out of curiosity." He went on to add, “He also pointed out certain facts to back his claims. According to him, a person will never drown in one-foot deep water, however much he drinks. He will drown only if somebody holds his both legs and sinks his head into the water.” When Boney Kapoor was asked what he had to say about Rishiraj’s claims, the producer told in.com, “I don’t want to react to such stupid stories. There is no need to react because such stupid stories keep coming. Basically, this is somebody’s fragment of imagination.”The UAE authorities had confirmed that the cause of death was in fact accidental drowning.

Of course this new accusation has brought forth a huge number of people all over the Internet arguing over what the truth is. Many are taking to their social media handles and wondering if what the DGP has written in newspaper column could have an ounce of truth in it. Now, that Boney Kapoor has responded to it, hopefully things will settle down.
