Venkat Prabhu has always delivered fun and light hearted movies for the audience. He is probably one director who has given a super hit sequel movie, Chennai 600028 Part II. It was his last directorial, that released in 2016 and he was missing in action for quite some time. Later, when Maanaadu was announced back in June 2018, his fans were very pleased that he, Yuvan Shankar Raja and STR are coming together; even the movie began rolling on June, this year. But now sources close to us tell that VP will be directing a web-series for Star Network's online streaming platform, Hotstar.

Venkat Prabhu will now be focusing on this web series, however, the current status of Maanaadu is that the filming of the movie is kept on hold. Being a political thriller, Maanaadu will have Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead and more importantly, veteran director, Bharathiraja has been roped in to play a pivotal role.
Anyway, Venkat Prabhu has will next be seen as a baddy, in a cop role in Nithin Satya's next production. Vaibhav Reddy is playing the lead role in this flick. Venkat Prabhu is also starring in Kasada Thabara as one of the leads, directed by Chimbu Deven. The movie has 6 cinematographers, music directors and editors.
RK Nagar, which is one of Venkat Prabhu's forthcoming productions, has been delayed which stars Vaibhav as the lead. His directorial venture, Party has also been put on hold that has a huge star cast that includes, Jai, Chandramouli, Shiva, Regina Cassandra, Sanchita Shetty, Nivetha Pethuraj, Vijay Vasanth, Aravind Akash, Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Shaam, Ramya Krishnan and Naaser.
