Udhayanidhi Stalin's Nimir, directed by National Award-winning director Priyadarshan is an official remake of the acclaimed Malayalam film, Maheshinte Prathikaaram.

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s next, Nimir, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Priyadarshan is gearing up for a big release later this month.
Produced under the Moonshot Entertainment banner, Nimir also stars Parvatii Nair and Namitha Pramod as the female leads along with veteran filmmaker J. Mahendran, Samuthirakani, MS Bhaskar and Karunakaran in important supporting roles with music by Darbuka Siva and Ajaneesh Loknath.
Meanwhile, the trailer for Nimir being unveiled today evening was announced last week. In the midst of this, the film’s release date has also been made official to be as January 26, thereby setting itself up for a Republic Day weekend clash against three other big films.
Nimir will now clash with the highly anticipated sci-fi thriller, Tik Tik Tik, starring Jayam Ravi, his son Aarav and Nivetha Pethuraj.
The Udhayanidhi Stalin starrer will also take on the crime thriller, Irumbu Thirai, starring Vishal, Samantha Akkineni and Arjun.
In addition, Nimir will also go up against Sundar. C’s Kalakalappu 2, which has names like Jiiva Jai, Mirchi Shiva, Nikki Galrani and Catherine Tresa.
It must be noted that Nimir is an official remake of the critically acclaimed blockbuster Malayalam film, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, starring Fahadh Faasil, Aparna Balamurali and Anusree Nair in lead roles.
