Upon the distributor's request, the multi-starrer Neeya 2's release date has been rescheduled to 24th of May. Apart from Varalaxmi Sarathkumar who plays the female serpent, the cast includes Jai, Catherine Tresa and Raai Lakshmi. The Kana Kaanum Kaalangal fame Bala Saravanan will be providing the comic relief. Neeya 2 comprises of 6 songs.

Initially, the movie was set to hit the screens on May 10th. Movies like 100, Kee, Ayogya and Maharishi are all set to clash at the box office on the same day. Also, movies like Avengers: Endgame and Kanchana 3 has generated a good traffic to the theatres for 2 consecutive weekends. The lack of screens was also a vital reason for the same.
This horror drama thriller flick is not said to be a sequel of the first "Neeya" movie. Except for the title, the "snake" reference and the famous "orey jeevan ondrey ullam" song, this movie is in no way similar to the first Neeya movie.
The movie is expected to pull a heavy crowd because of the vacation time. Seems like the director of the film, L. Suresh and the cinematographer Rajavel Mohan travelled across India and Thailand and finally located a Black Cobra at Bangkok to learn about its physique, body language and nature.
