This Pongal Kollywood will witness the biggest clash at the box office in recent times. Shankar's Nanban versus Lingusamy's Vettai! So who will win the game? Let's wait and watch! Meanwhile here we bring an in depth analysis of both multistarrers.

Vettai

Lingusamy himself is the biggest driving factor of this film; over the years he has emerged as one of the most reliable directors in Tamil. And with Vettai the hit duo of Run (Lingusamy and Madhavan) is once again back! Need we say anything more?

Moreover both Madhavan and Arya have a huge fan following in Tamil Nadu so that will be an added advantage. Also the two leading ladies, Sameera and Amala are popular faces in Kollywood and have impressed with their acting skills. Yuvan-Lingusamy duo has already give a lot of hit numbers earlier and with 'Papparappa' becoming a hit we expect some amazing visuals too.

Thumbs up: Lingusamy-Madhavan duo, leading ladies (Sameera and Amala), complete family entertainer perfect for the festive season, Arya-Madhavan chemistry, Yuvan's music.

hreats: Too much of expectations from all the quarters and of course the film is all set to clash with Vijay's Nanban.

Nanban

Leaving behind the punches and superhero fight sequences, Vijay is all set for a image makeover with Nanban. After many years the actor will be seen as a college student in this multistarrer. The film directed by Shankar also has Jiiva, Srikanth, Sathyaraj, Ileana and Sathyan in prominent roles. Harris' rocking tracks are already the talk of the town.

Thumbs up: Shankar-Vijay duo for the first time on screen, neat entertainer laced with humour, Harris' music, pretty lass Ileana is back in K town

Threats: Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots was so popular that most of the people in the state have already seen it. Scope for fight sequences are very less in Nanban so we will definitely miss Vijay's superhero image.

Well whatever the genre of these Pongal releases, the good thing about such a clash is that the moviegoers are the winners as they get to watch some amazing cinema!
