Nakul: Kandhakottai is an all-round entertainer

Full of lifeare the words that comes to one’s mind when you get a glimpse of the ever-smiling Nakul who proved his acting prowess with Kadhlil Vizhundhen and had us in splits with his antics in Maasilamani. With two hits behind him, Nakul is eager to make it a hat-trick!

Kandhakottai sounds like your typical mass action movie, but Nakul insists it’s not. “The movie is an all-round entertainer. There’s a lot of comedy. I have teamed up with Santhanam, and I’m sure people will enjoy it. Then there’s the dose of romance and action. But it’s not an out-and-out action movie,” he explains. No punch dialogues? “No no! No punch dialogues! I’m too shy,” he blushes! So what’s the story behind the title?

“It’s the name of the area in which the hero lives. You see, it’s like this. The hero hates the idea of falling in love. So he does not allow his friends also to fall in love. But when he falls in love, things take a different turn. That’s as much as I can tell you!” he reveals.

Talking about his co-star Poorna, he’s very appreciative of her efforts and her cooperation on the sets. “She’s already acted with Bharath. She’s a very nice person,” he says. But wouldn’t the Nakul-Sunaina team have proved third time lucky? “I guess everyone thought that we’d act together again. But if we had, then it would have beenstale. Already, we’ve acted twice together. It’s time we moved on,” he says. Sunaina, for her part, has two movies almost ready for release, Kathirvel and Yathumagi.Nakul informs us that his Kandhakottai is almost done, with only the songs to be wrapped up, for which they mightseek exotic locations abroad. “I think we may be flying to Barcelona for one song. I know there’s the swine flu scare everywhere, but I’m willing to risk it,” he exclaims. Anything for cinema, we suppose!
