Nadhiya replaces Khushbu in 'Jackpot'

Just two days after actress Khushbu entered politics by joining the ruling DMKparty(AIADMK's political rival), AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha's Jaya TV dropped Khusbu fromtheir nine-years-running hugely popular reality game show 'Jackpot'. Now the latest buzz is that yesteryear heart-throb Nadhiya will be the new anchor of the said reality show.

Talking to a leading newspaper about her new avatar as a TV hostess, Nadhiya said: "I’m not replacing anybody. The show is a brand by itself. I look at it as a popular family show which has massive reach among all sections of the audiences. Actually, the show and my image complement each other and I’m sure it is going to be a rocking hit." Nadhiya revealed that what attracted her to the show was its family appeal, cutting across all segments of audiences.

We know 'Jackpot' was popular for its content and prizes, and also for Khusbu and her well-ventilated blouses which made bold style statements. So will Nadhiya also step into such blouses when she steps into Khushbu's shoes? Nadhiya says, "Wait and watch!"

During its search for the right replacement to Khushbu, the channel was very particular that that a non-political person, preferably settled outside Tamil Nadu, but with reach in the state, should anchor the game show. "I think I fitted the bill perfectly as I live with my family in Bandra in Mumbai and have no connection with any political party. But I look at this opportunity more as hosting a popular game show to the best of my abilities, while ensuring that it entertains and garners impressive TRPs," Nadhiya added.

Meanwhile, actress Khushbu met Union Minister M.K. Alagiri recently to discuss her political career. The actress also addressed a special meeting organised to celebrate the birthday of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi in Chennai.
