Actor Rajinikanth has come under a lot of scrutiny over the past two days owing to the statements he had made this week during an interaction with the press upon his return from Tuticorin after meeting the families of the victims and those injured during the Sterlite protests last week.

Rajinikanth had gone on to quote certain anti-social elements were the primary reason for the Sterlite protests to turn violent leading to the police taking charge at them. These comments not only drew flak from the general public, but many from the political arena have lashed out at the veteran actor.

Actor turned politician Sarath Kumar had yesterday at a press meet asked Rajinikanth to submit the list of anti-social elements he had spoken of. If he failed to produce the names, the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi leader stated the Kaala actor must be arrested under the National Security Act.

Now, Naam Tamilar Katchi’s Seeman had reportedly planned to file a police complaint against Rajinikanth today stating not disclosing the details of the so-called anti-social elements is a crime.

It must be noted Rajinikanth had yesterday on his Twitter page extended an apology for his angry outburst at journalists during the press conference at the Chennai airport a couple of days back.
