Kamaraj fame director A. Balakrishan's political themed movie Mudhalvar Mahatma, which showed a fanciful tale of how Mahatma Gandhi would react if he were to visit India now, went unnoticed due to big releases. Now the makers are planning to re-release the film on Independence day.
Mudhalvar Mahatma is a way to find solutions to political and social problems the Gandhian way. The director has also created a scene in which slain LTTE leader Prabhakaran meets Gandhi to discuss the rights of the Tamil people in Srilanka. Ramana Communications, who produced Kamaraj, is producing the movie. Bollywood actor Anupam Kher also appears in an important role.
