The entire Tamil film industry had been going through a major crisis after the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) had called for a strike against the Digital Service Providers (DSPs) for well over a month.

With no Tamil film release since March 1, an announcement has now been made by TFPC President Vishal himself on the first Tamil film that will be hitting screens starting tomorrow since the strike was called off this week.

Vishal had taken to his Twitter page to make the announcement that the Karthik Subbaraj-directed horror film, Mercury, starring Prabhudeva in the lead role alongside Indhuja and Remya Nambeesan among others will be the first film to arrive on screens after the TFPC strike.

Likewise, production as well as post-production works on all films were brought to an indefinite halt from March 16, which also included audio launch events. Now, Mr. Chandramouli starring Karthik, Gautham Karthik, Regina Cassandra and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar under Thiru’s direction with music by Sam C. S will be the first film to have its audio launched on April 25 with Vishal reportedly set to participate in the event as the Chief Guest.
