It is a crucial time in the Tamil film industry for well over a month as no Tamil film has released in theatres across the state since March 1.

In addition, a strike was brought into effect from March 16 as a mark of protest by the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) against Digital Service Providers (DSPs) like UFO and QUBE.

That being said, a meeting was scheduled to take place between the TFPC and theatre owners today evening for an immediate solution to the ongoing strike and crisis.

Meanwhile, the TFPC has now released a statement regarding the meeting saying it has been postponed. As per the statement, the Tamil Nadu government has planned a meeting with the TFPC on April 17 following which an exhibitors meet will take place right after that.
