A film that has fans intrigued, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, being directed by ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam has been progressing at brisk pace.

Featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, the film is also being made in Telugu as Nawab under the joint production of Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners.

Meanwhile, with a major chunk of the production wrapped up and filming at present taking place in Dubai, reports have now surfaced stating the makers are eyeing a release in September.

Chekka Chivantha Vaanam includes a massive multi-star cast starting with Simbu as one of the main leads.

'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi too had taken part in the previous schedule to film his portions.

A frequent collaborator to Mani Ratnam, Arvind Swami is said to be playing a crucial role in the film.

Arun Vijay’s career has taken a big surge forward and he too is being billed to be one of the USPs of the film.

Actress Jyothika is currently part of the film’s Dubai schedule and she was last reported to be playing Arvind Swami’s wife.

Aishwarya Rajesh is gradually making a big impact with every new project she is signing on to and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam too is one of them.

Her performance in Kaatru Veliyidai last year went on to be lauded by fans and critics alike and, Aditi Rao Hydari's inclusion in Ratnam’s latest is no big surprise.
