Film aficionados are awaiting the release of National Award-winning filmmaker Ram’s upcoming film, Peranbu, hitting screens tomorrow (February 1). Produced under the Shree Rajalakshmi Films, the film stars Malayalam superstar Mammootty, Anjali and Thangameengal Sadhana in starring roles with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

After being screened at several film festivals and reaping laurels, Peranbu is being appreciated by many in the Tamil film industry with Thani Oruvan and Velaikkaran director Mohan Raja taking to his Twitter to post a video appreciating the entire film’s team including director Ram, Mammootty and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja.

In his statement, Mohan Raja said, “Generally, there is an opinion that only films that come out in the thriller genre, movies that do not lag in any form and do not make us leave the seat are considered good films. It is a strong trend and I also agree with this, but I feel this form of view is also affecting films that have a unique vision. I haven’t watched Peranbu yet, but I did see a sneak peek and a scene in it says plenty about the value of the film. I’m going to watch the film tomorrow and I want you all to see it too.”

He further added, “If you are part of an audience that doesn’t watch films that are heavy in content or tragic in theme, I’m not forcing you. But, if you are one who watches good cinema, I want to inform you all on a good film.”
