One of the few films that has brought back families to theatres in recent times, the Savitri biopic, Mahanti in Telugu and Nadigaiyar Thilagam in Tamil has not only spelled success at the box office, but has also become a critical hit; an attribute not many films these days enjoy.

Starring Keerthy Suresh in the lead role as the iconic south Indian actress Savitri, the film has been declared a hit with accolades pouring in for the entire team ever since its release in Telugu on May 9 and the Tamil version coming out on May 11.

Meanwhile, Mahanati has secured yet another honor as its team and Keerthy Suresh were honored today by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Furthermore, the makers of Nadigaiyar Thilagam have announced Rs. 50 lakhs as a donation for the development of Andhra Pradesh’s capital, Amaravathi.

Currently running in theatres, Mahanti directed by Nag Ashwin under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner also stars Samantha, Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, Prakash Raj in vital supporting roles alongside Shalini Pandey and Naga Chaitanya making cameo appearances.
