Game of Thrones star joins Madhavan's ambitious directorial debut
Madhavan’s directorial debut, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, being made as a trilingual in English and Hindi is titled Rocketry: Nambi Vilaivu in Tamil and also marks the reunion of the actor with Simran after 17 years when they were last seen in the National Award-winning film, Kannathil Muthamittal. With production progressing at a steady pace, it has now been officially announced that Scottish actor Ron Donachie has been roped in for an important role in the film. He is known among fans for playing the character, Ser Rodrik Cassel, in the blockbuster American fantasy TV series, Game of Thrones and was also nominated for the prestigious Screen Actors Guild Award. Furthermore, veteran actress Phyllis Morgan, who has appeared in the hit British show, Downtown Abbey, will be also seen in a vital role in the upcoming film.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is based on the life of former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist and aerospace engineer Nambi Narayanan. The film will focus on how he was accused of espionage as well as showing his days as a graduate student at Princeton University and also his work as a scientist. A joint collaboration of Tricolour Films and Varghese Moolan Pictures with music by Sam CS, Rocketry has now wrapped up filming and will enter post-production next.
There has been plenty of excitement surrounding Rocketry ever since it was announced last year apart from the confirmation from Madhavan himself on the casting of Simran in what is set to be one of the most ambitious films being made at present.
