Music director turned actor G.V. Prakash's maiden production venture Madha Yaanai Kootam has gotten a clean 'U' certificate from the Censor Board. This film is touted to be a racy thriller with its storyline based in Madurai. Directed by Vikram Sukumaran, a close associate of Balu Mahendra, this film has Kathir and Oviya in the lead roles. Since the story is closely related to Madurai, it was G.V. Prakash's special request to the director to rope in one of his assistants N.R. Raghunandhan, who has a close connection with the city.

JSK Film Corporation has acquired the rights of Madha Yaanai Kootam and the movie is expected to release for Christmas – December 25.
