M3V honoured in New York!

Imagine a Tamil film being honoured at an international film festival. Well, many may feel that it was long overdue, and it is becoming a reality at last! With the recent win of A.R. Rahman at the Oscars, there seems to be no end in accolades for excellence for film makers from Kollywood.

Mudhal Mudhal Mudhal Varai (M3V) , a Tamil film released in 2008, won the award for the Best Drama Feature in the Best Feature film (International) at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival.

M3V was directed by Krishnan Seshadri Gomatam and produced by Krsna Cinemas. The cast included C.P. Satyajit, Anuja Iyer, Charan, Keevna and Vidya Easwaran.�Music was scored by Aslam Mustafa. Art direction was by Thotta Tharani and cinematography was by Fowzia Fathima.

The�plot of M3V�is about the difficulties faced by a young ad film maker who has dreams of making it big in movies.�M3V also won rave reviews at the International Film Festival of India held in Goa.�It was promoted as the first 'Tamil Metro movie', and the director insists that it is not a typical art-house production. M3V managed to capture many real life instances naturally, and highlights the life of an urban male.

M3V also received a lot of appreciation in Chennai when it was released, notably for its narration and freshness in cast.
