Actor Karthi who started out as an assistant director to ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam is now playing the lead role in his upcoming film Kaatru Veliyidai. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has been roped in to play the female lead. Karthi who plays the role of VC aka Varun is a fighter pilot in the movie. The actor took basic flying lessons and closely interacted with several fight pilots to understand their mentality and body language. He also added that even after the movie, he might take flying lessons.
