We had reported yesterday that Kamal Haasan was planning to begin work on his upcoming Indian 2 with director Shankar soon and that the film could possibly reference ongoing social issues such as the Nirav Modi PNB scam.

Announced last year, Indian 2 will see the 'Ulaganayagan' team up with Shankar once again after a gap of 22 years since their Indian in 1996.

It must be noted Kamal Haasan launched his Makkal Needhi Maiam political party earlier this week and fans have been wondering how he will coordinate working in films and do political service.

Having said that, reports around Indian 2 have surfaced quite a lot this week and the latest includes Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn likely joining the cast in the role of a cop, whose mission is said to be to nab Kamal Haasan.

Kamal Haasan enjoys quite a lot of popularity and adulation in North India and the inclusion of a two-time National Award-winning actor like Ajay Devgn will no doubt bolster the value of Indian 2. However, an official statement is awaited from the makers on the film.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn will next be seen in the period crime drama film, Raid, in which he is seen playing an Income Tax Commissioner. The film is said to be based on a true story of the longest-running Income Tax raid in the history of India.

Indian 2 kicked off production on Republic Day last month and we can expect production to begin rolling in the coming months.
